The start of whatever.....

Today I am feeling like an ant.  I know...what a way to start my first public blog.

But seriously, the combined income of my household (the wife and me) has taken a severe blow and now we are both looking for second jobs to try to make up some of the difference.  I honestly never thought it would be this hard to get a second job.  I have gone to the grocery store, gas stations, cell phone stores, and even Target with no luck.  At my day job, I signed on with a decent base, and potential for bonus/commission pay.  It seems like when I accomplish my metrics to get the incentive pay, they change the requirements so I get nothing.  I am sad to say this has happened quite a bit in my past.  

Now, my wife's situation is very saddening and I hope anyone that reads this feels the same way too.  She is an educator and has been for ten plus years, currently working in the largest ISD, in the largest northern city of the state we live in... You should be able to figure it out.  Anyways, she has taught for many and then took a role as an Instructional Coach.  This was not exactly what she wanted to do, but a step in the right direction.  When the district faced the budget cuts issued by the government, most of her group was punted out the door.  The sad thing is the so-called supervisors somehow had the director fired and that allowed them to pick who stays and who goes.  We all know how the outcome would be…the ones that actually cared about the students and the success of the teachers were reassigned to nothing.  Left to deal with the stress of losing a third of pay and to attempt to find positions within the district.  This began right before a new school year.

Do you know what the #1 pollution is of humanity…GREED.  I do not remember where I heard that, but that statement is correct.  How did we come to this?  I think I have ranted enough today.  Feel free to comment about similar issues, feedback to my rant, or anything else.  Keep it real peeps.
